Andrew Sumner
Andrew Sumner is a multi-disciplinary circus artist from Australia and the United Kingdom. He began training in gymnastics at the age of four, and what started as childhood curiosity quickly grew into a lifelong passion. Andrew went on to win multiple Australian national titles in artistic gymnastics and also competed nationally in trampoline gymnastics.
Andrew later discovered circus arts, where he found the perfect fusion of athleticism, creativity, and storytelling. He has since built a global performance career spanning theatre, contemporary circus, cabaret, special events, television, and large-scale productions.
His credits include the Australian production of Pippin the Musical as part of the acrobatic ensemble, a residency in Dubai with La Perle by Franco Dragone, and Passengers by Les Sept Doigts De La Main, which toured throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe.
Additional credits include Circa Contemporary Circus, Disney Cruise Line (including a featured role in Aladdin), Dracula’s Cabaret, and appearances as a solo guest specialty act with Virgin Voyages.
Alongside performing, Andrew collaborates with fellow circus professionals on act creation, coaching, and choreography. He has also worked as an assistant acrobatic designer on several Australian festival productions.
Andrew is thrilled to be back on home soil and can’t wait to share the magic of Come Alive with Australian audiences.
